Question 1

How does selling my car to VMS Automotive work?

Accepted Answer

Provide your registration, mileage, service history and condition by phone or form for a valuation, receive a fair market-based offer within one working day, book a convenient inspection at the South London base, and get paid by secure bank transfer, typically the same day the inspection is confirmed.

Question 2

Can I sell my car if it still has outstanding finance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. VMS Automotive settles the outstanding finance directly with the lender and pays any remaining equity to the seller.

Question 3

What documents do I need to sell my car?

Accepted Answer

You will need the V5C logbook, service history, and the MOT certificate if applicable.

Question 4

How is my part-exchange valuation calculated?

Accepted Answer

Valuations are based on live market data and take into account mileage, service history, condition and the number of keys. Minor wear and tear is normal and will not necessarily affect the valuation significantly.

Question 5

Does my part-exchange car need a valid MOT?

Accepted Answer

No, a valid MOT is not required to part-exchange a vehicle with VMS Automotive.

Question 6

Can I use my part-exchange value as a deposit on finance?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the part-exchange value can be used as a deposit toward a new vehicle, reducing the overall amount you need to finance.

Question 7

Do you offer car finance including PCP and HP?

Accepted Answer

Yes, VMS Automotive offers both Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) and Hire Purchase (HP) finance, with flexible deposits and terms.

Question 8

What warranty comes with a car bought from VMS Automotive?

Cover can be extended to 12 or 24 months via the Silver, Gold or Platinum service plans.
